Shyamal Patel

Shyamal Patel is the Head of Science at Oura, where he leads an interdisciplinary organization focused on research and development of algorithms that translate sensor data into accurate measures of health and wellbeing. He is passionate about building digital health solutions to enable the transformation of healthcare from an episodic, population based and reactive model to a continuous, personalized and proactive one.

Shyamal has extensive experience leading data science teams in startups and large companies. Previously, he worked at Pfizer, where he focused on developing, validating, and deploying new digital endpoints across multiple therapeutic areas in regulated clinical trials. Shyamal holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Signal Processing and Applied Machine Learning from Northeastern University and completed his post-doctoral research at Harvard University.
