MORE THAN 20 MILLION LIVES AT STAKE
Heart Disease is on the rise globally. According to the World Health Organization, almost 20 million people per year die of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Deaths due to cardiovascular disease are expected to increase by 18% by the year 2030. A common silent killer for those with CVD are those who have an irregular heartbeat.

Electrophysiologists (EPs) specialize in heart arrhythmia disorders and are uniquely qualified to serve patients with heart arrhythmia disorders caused by CVD. With so many lives at increased risk for sudden death, we must increase our collective capacity to diagnose, treat, and potentially cure heart arrhythmia disorders.

As the number of lives impacted by CVD increases, so does the need for more robust medical interventions and solutions. Advancements in technology, ranging from diagnostic and treatmentdevices to cloud and consumer technology, will help improve the quality of life and reduce death.

The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) is the go-to membership association of over 7,500 medical professionals in the field of EP. Representing over 90 countries, HRS is the pivotal connector for all organizations and institutions dedicated to serving patients around the globe suffering from heart rhythm disorders. As a clinical field that was birthed in 1967, our membership consists of experts on the ground floor of a nascent but rapidly expanding medical field. Now is the perfect time to join us!

“There’s so many great things. First of all—healthcare is moving digital, and the fact that health and digital technology are now front and center in HRS, forming HRX, is amazing. I love the focus on health equity because today a lot of what we’re talking about are disparities in care and as healthcare providers, we have to figure out how we can deliver and how we can use technology to help us.”
