About Álvaro E. Reyes-Quintero, MD
Álvaro E. Reyes-Quintero, MD is a physician trained at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. His interest in cardiology began during medical school and solidified during his research-focused social service year at the Instituto Nacional de Cardiología Ignacio Chávez, where he trained under Drs. Manlio Márquez and Pedro Iturralde. There, he developed a strong interest in inherited arrhythmia syndromes and the diagnostic challenges faced by affected patients. Motivated to contribute to more precise and timely diagnoses, he enrolled in the PhD program in Human Genetics at the Universidad de Guadalajara. Under the mentorship of Drs. Luis Figuera and Héctor Barajas-Martínez, he has helped establish a research line in cardiogenetics focused on hereditary arrhythmic syndromes.
