About Avi Fischer, MD, FHRS

Avi Fischer, MD is a cardiac electrophysiologist, clinician scientist, and broadly experienced industry executive. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs and Innovation for Orchestra BioMed, Inc. and has held numerous senior leadership roles in industry including CEO, Electrophysiology Frontiers, S.p.A., and Chief Medical Officer, Abbott Cardiac Rhythm Management. Avi’s experiences as a clinician scientist and industry executive have positioned him as a valuable resource for companies developing disruptive technologies in the MedTech and Healthcare sectors.

Prior to his move to industry, Avi was a practicing cardiac electrophysiologist in NYC and served on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Director, Pacemaker and Defibrillator Therapy. He has lectured at international scientific congresses and has trained physicians around the world on lead management and lead extraction techniques. He has authored numerous patents, original scientific publications, invited reviews and book chapters. Avi is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and has served on a range of societal committees on cardiac implantable electronic devices and healthcare quality initiatives. He is a steering committee member for the MDIC/Stanford EP Collaboratory and has served on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association (AHA), Westchester County, New York affiliate and NY State Advocacy Committee.
