About Emma Svennberg, MD, PhD

Dr. Emma Svennberg is an assistant professor and electrophysiologist working in the department of electrophysiology and cardiology at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm Sweden. Dr. Svennberg’s main research interests lie within screening for atrial fibrillation, in particular systematic screening, where she has been part of the large population-based screening studies STROKESTOP I & II. Dr. Svennberg has received the Swedish Society of Cardiology research award twice and is a fellow of the ESC, and EHRA. She was one of the founders, and subsequently president of the Swedish branch of Cardiologists of Tomorrow. Dr. Svennberg was elected as treasurer for the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) board in 2024 and is in the EHRA’s executive board. She was the inaugural chair of the EHRA Digital Committee and is currently a deputy editor of EP Europace, an editor for ESC TV Today and part of the steering committee for AF Screen International Collaboration.
