About Gerhard Hindricks, MD, PhD

Gerhard Hindricks is a researcher and cardiologist from Berlin, Germany. He was trained and educated in cardiovascular medicine at the University Hospital Münster. From 1998 until 2023, Gerhard developed the Department of Electrophysiology at the Heart Centre Leipzig to one of the largest and most successful interventional electrophysiologic departments in Europe. From 2015 to 2023, he served as the Medical Director of the Heart Center Leipzig. In 2023, Gerhard has taken a new position at the German Heart Centre of the Charité in Berlin. His main responsibilities in Berlin are the development of excellence in electrophysiology at Charité hospitals, the integration of the Charité hospitals to the German Heart Centre (as Chief Integration Officer) and to support the German Heart Centre of the Charité in fields of strategic development. Gerhard will be appointed as Director of the Department of Cardiology of the Charite Campus Mitte on February 1st 2024.
