About Heather M. Ross, PhD, DNP, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FHRS

Heather M. Ross, PhD, DNP, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FHRS is an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation and the College of Global Futures School for the Future of Innovation in Society. Her teaching and applied research centers on health equity and policy, including leading research in dementia and homelessness, crisis mental health response, digital health equity, and directing the SolarSPELL Health global library initiative. From 2019-2022, Dr. Ross served as Special Advisor to Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego focusing on issues related to public health and health equity. Dr. Ross maintains a clinical practice as a nurse practitioner in cardiac electrophysiology and serves in leadership roles nationally for the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society, as well as serving on expert panels in health equity and global health for the American Academy of Nursing. In the community, Dr. Ross is the Board chair for the Arizona Anti-Defamation League, Chair of the Phoenix Women’s Commission, and Chair of the Arizona Civil Rights Advisory Board.
