Malcolm Finlay

I am a consultant cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre (St Bartholomew’s hospital), and was appointed at the end of 2014, having qualified in Medicine from Oxford University in 2001. Throughout my training, I have been deeply interested in entrepreneurship, and during my PhD at UCL (2019-2013) I formed my first startup: Epicardio Ltd. This London-based cardiac simulation for training is now used worldwide and has contracts with several of the world’s major strategic medical device manufacturers. Since then, I have formed two further spinouts: Echopiont Medical Ltd (from UCL) and Rhythm AI Ltd (from Barts). I remain a clinician, performing minimally invasive procedures at Barts Heart Centre, outpatients at Whipps Cross hospital and a significant on-call component. I perform research within QMUL and sit on clinical advisory boards for several major strategics,
