Guangqing Yang

Guangqing earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University and began his graduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Chicago in 2024. While at Peking University, he focused on developing instrumentation and programming for a commercially available one-station-solution HPLC instrument. He also completed an undergraduate thesis—under the guidance of Prof. Junrong Zheng—that explored ultrafast kinetic behavior of organic compounds using spectroscopic techniques. Outside the lab, Guangqing enjoys diving into history, with a particular interest in Eastern European and Balkan topics. He’s also an avid fan of anime and movies, especially the works of Tarkovsky and Kon.
