Proton Intelligence  is developing the first ever wearable continuous potassium monitoring platform (like a Dexcom CGM, but for potassium) to help patients preserve their cardiorenal function and prevent deadly arrhythmias and crash dialysis. Our technology will optimize the prescription, dosing, and safety monitoring of critical therapies needed for GDMT for CHF, CKD, and resistant hypertension.

Second Place: RCE Therapeutics

CE is an AI med tech company that has developed a groundbreaking wrist-worn wearable that uses advanced infrared technology and machine learning to detect heart attacks by analyzing signals from your skin.

We are thrilled to take part in this opportunity because heart attacks are the leading cause of death and a precursor to nerve and muscle damage, which presents a chance to better address arrhythmias and heart failure.

People Choice Award: Kardiodiagnostix Inc.

Kardiodiagnostix Inc. is a startup founded by Dr. Robert Chen (pediatric interventional cardiologist), Mr. Shameer Iqbal (AI expert), and Dr. Santokh Dhillon (pediatric electrophysiologist) with the goal of reducing the burden on health care systems while improving the quality and accessibility of care using innovative AI platforms. We are empowering healthcare through innovation.

First Place: Dynocardia

Dynocardia is addressing the unmet need for accurate and continuous non-invasive blood pressure (BP) and other cardio-hemodynamic parameters in real-world use. ViTrack™, a proprietary optomechanical sensor, and computer vision technology, is the first to directly measure beat-to-beat systolic BP and diastolic BP without the need for external calibration in real-world settings with the accuracy of invasive arterial pressure, irrespective of patient movement or wrist position relative to the heart.

Second Place: Kilele Health

Kilele Health is bringing a new wearable continuous monitoring platform to the market for heart failure – the SunVida system. Kilele will be the first to offer a system that looks like and acts like a continuous glucose monitor, but measures NT-proBNP. Kilele will also be the first to build a bridge between digital biomarker wearables and biochemical biomarker wearables, creating a multimodal platform for heart health.

Third Place: VPG Medical Inc. (Audience Chosen)

VPG Medical Inc. specializes in developing clinically-validated video-based monitoring solutions. Our unique approach utilizes video sensors in smart devices and computers, delivering effortless monitoring that has proven effective in hospitals and homes. Our groundbreaking solution revolutionizes atrial fibrillation management, surpassing clinical devices and wearables by eliminating the need for dedicated sensors.

First Place: Relay Response

Relay Response is a transformative resuscitation platform that aims to make CPR accessible and effective for everyone. By developing medical software that runs on smartphones and smartwatches, Relay Response enables rescuers to practice CPR on-demand while receiving real-time coaching and data-rich insights.

Relay Response was thrilled to be invited to participate in the 2022 HRX Pitch Competition. The event allowed them to connect with a diverse group of clinicians, investors, and industry leaders. Relay Response is eager to use their success to put the future of cardiac arrest care in the hands of everyone.

Second Place: VPExam from TeleHealth Care Solutions LLC

TeleHealth Care Solutions LLC (TCS) was created to improve access and quality of care for new patient populations by developing innovative, clinically validated virtual care systems that reduce mortality in complex cardiac care patients.

One of TCS’s innovations is VPExam Virtual Care, which combines augmented reality with Bluetooth stethoscopes and single-lead ECG to improve diagnostic accuracy by accessing volume status, cardiopulmonary auscultation, detection of arrhythmias, and proving structured data, including vitals, medication reconciliation, and labs. VPExam Virtual Care has significantly improved outcomes for high-risk heart failure patients, including a 40% reduction in the 30-day hospital readmission rate and a 50% reduction in the 30-day mortality rate.

The TCS team was excited to have the opportunity to discuss the ongoing evolution of virtual care, primarily when focusing on specialty transition of care. Virtual care in heart failure management is a rapidly evolving intervention with high-yield quality returns.

Third Place: Anumana

Anumana is an AI-driven health technology company that is part of the inference and Mayo Clinic Platform portfolio. By harnessing industry-leading AI and translational science to decode electrocardiograms (ECGs), Anumana leverages the ECG as a deep predictive tool and biomarker of disease and empowers care providers to help patients early in their treatment.

Anumana was excited about the opportunity to participate in the HRX Pitch Competition and to share their story on breakthrough AI ECG innovations. Their team thoroughly enjoyed meeting fellow innovators disrupting cardiology with digital tools and transforming patient care.
