About Christoph Hennersperger, PhD

Dr. Christoph Hennersperger is Co-Founder and CTO at LUMA Vision, developing a novel ultrasound based visualization and navigation platform for cardiac interventions, generating a 360-degree view, navigating and imaging all structures and devices around the catheter with an unprecedented field of view.

Prior to LUMA Vision, Christoph Hennersperger has worked in engineering, industrial and academic research across different start-ups and industry projects in Munich and Dublin, as well as leading multidisciplinary research efforts in diagnostic and interventional imaging with some of the world’s top academic institutions.

Christoph has a master’s in electrical engineering and information technology and holds a doctorate degree (PhD) in the field of interventional guidance specialized on 3D ultrasound imaging. In 2015, he joined the BioInnovate Ireland innovation fellowship program affiliated to Stanford Biodesign, aiming at developing innovative approaches for solving unmet clinical needs, out of which LUMA Vision was founded jointly with Fionn Lahart in 2017. Christoph is author of more than 50 publications and inventor of multiple patents the field of medical imaging and technology, spanning from robotic imaging in general surgery to cardiac ultrasound-enabled navigation and guidance.
