Larry Jackson, II

Larry R. Jackson II, MD, MHSc, FHRS is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Duke University School of Medicine and a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist at Duke Health. He specializes in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other complex cardiac arrhythmias, with expertise in catheter ablation, cardiac implantable electronic devices, and evidence-based management of heart rhythm disorders.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jackson is an internationally recognized physician-scientist whose research focuses on advancing health equity in cardiac electrophysiology. His work examines racial and ethnic disparities in arrhythmia care, shared decision-making, stroke prevention, and access to advanced rhythm management therapies. Supported by the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association, his research aims to develop patient-centered interventions that improve outcomes for historically underserved populations.

A frequent invited speaker and educator, Dr. Jackson has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and serves in leadership roles within national cardiovascular organizations, including the Heart Rhythm Society and the Association of Black Cardiologists. He is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular care through clinical innovation, research, education, and advocacy for equitable access to high-quality electrophysiology care.
