About Paul D. Varosy, MD, FHRS

Paul D. Varosy, MD, FHRS is the director of cardiac electrophysiology in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Eastern Colorado Health Care System and Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado. He also serves as the Deputy Director of the National Cardiology Program Office, for the Veterans Health Administration. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and then earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. He trained in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Varosy’s interests focus on measurement and improvement of quality of care among patients with heart rhythm disorders and arrhythmia devices. In addition to his work in the Veterans Health Administration, he has served in several leadership roles at the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR), the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association focused on performance measures development, health policy, and quality improvement.

Dr. Varosy lives in Centennial, CO, a suburb of Denver, with his wife and three children. He enjoys good food, good music, and skiing with friends and family.
