Sallie Gustafson

Sallie’s career in cardiology began after graduating from Emory University School of Nursing, where her first role in a cardiac telemetry step-down unit sparked her passion. This led her to work in critical care and emergency departments nationwide, honing her cardiac skills. In 2008, she returned to Emory, joining the Pacemaker Clinic. She earned her IBHRE CCDS certification a few years later and spent 15 years leading the device clinic. During her leadership tenure, Sallie oversaw several expansions and mergers, successfully standardizing protocols across sites and fostering a cohesive team. In April 2025, Sallie joined MURj as the Director of Medical Affairs. In this role, she focuses on collaborating with clinicians and industry to drive continuous improvement, leveraging technology to enhance patient care and streamline clinician workflows.
