About Stavros Stavrakis, MD, PhD, FHRS
Dr. Stavrakis is a clinical electrophysiologist and physician scientist at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he also serves as the Director of Electrophysiology. His research has focused on autonomic modulation for the treatment of arrhythmias, in both animals and humans. His research has been continuously funded since 2012, from various sources, including the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health. He has published >150 papers over the last 10 years, in prestigious Cardiology journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation and the Journal of the American Heart Association. The significance of his work is being increasingly recognized and he has been invited to present in national and international meetings on this topic. He has mentored numerous fellows and junior faculty over the last 15 years.
