About Tolga Aksu, MD, FHRS
Prof. Tolga Aksu, MD, FHRS is Professor of Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Istinye University, Istanbul, Türkiye. He specializes in complex catheter ablation, cardiac autonomic modulation, physiologic pacing, ventricular arrhythmias, and advanced three-dimensional electroanatomic mapping. Dr. Aksu completed his medical education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine and his cardiology training at Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital. He also completed an observership at the Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), the European Heart Rhythm Association (FEHRA), and the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS). His academic interests focus on atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, cardioneuroablation, cardiac autonomic nervous system modulation, physiologic pacing, and innovative approaches to electrophysiology. He has authored more than 285 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has contributed to international textbooks and consensus documents. Dr. Aksu served as Chair of the international EHRA/HRS/APHRS/LAHRS Scientific Statement on Cardioneuroablation for Reflex Syncope and Functional Bradyarrhythmias. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology and the Journal of Electrocardiology, and serves on the editorial boards of several international cardiovascular journals. He is an active faculty member at major international scientific meetings, including HRS, EHRA, ESC, LAHRS, and Venice Arrhythmias, and currently serves on the HRS Scientific Program Committee and the EHRA Scientific Program Committee. His work is dedicated to advancing innovation, education, and evidence-based care in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
