About Victor Abrich, MD, FHRS
Dr. Abrich is a cardiac electrophysiologist currently practicing at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Iowa. Originally from Canada, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto before attending medical school at the PoznaĆ University of Medical Sciences in Poland. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and then pursued cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Throughout his training, Dr. Abrich received multiple honors for his academic and research contributions. He was recognized with the Nikolai Outstanding Resident Researcher Award in 2014. In 2016, he earned the Distinguished Poster Award for Clinical Fellow at the Young Investigator Research Symposium in Rochester and 2nd place in the Arizona ACC Fellow-in-Training Poster Session Award. He went on to receive first place in the Oral Presentation category for clinical research at Academic Excellence Day at Mayo Clinic Arizona in both 2017 and 2018.
Since beginning his role at MercyOne in 2019, Dr. Abrich has demonstrated a strong commitment to education, earning the Clinical Teacher of the Year award in June 2023 for his contributions to the family medicine residency program. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Abrich enjoys cycling, playing the piano and guitar, and attending concerts with his wife.
