About Ambarish Pandey, MD, MS
Dr. Pandey is an Associate Professor of Cardiology in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. He completed his medical school training at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India, followed by internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His clinical interests include the prevention and management of heart failure (HF) among older adults, and he is the Medical Director of the HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) program at UT Southwestern. His research interests include the development and evaluation of novel approaches to the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases. Specifically, he focuses on developing novel approaches to risk prediction, including machine-learning-based risk prediction models and EKG- and echo-based AI algorithms to identify individuals with subclinical cardiovascular disease. He is the principal investigator of the Cardiometabolic Research Unit at UT Southwestern, where he leads an independent research program funded by the National Institute of Health, the American Heart Association, and industry grants focused on cardiometabolic health. He has extensive experience with prospective observational studies, cardiovascular registries, and randomized clinical trials, and big-data analysis. He has received numerous research awards, published close to 400 peer-reviewed papers, and authored several book chapters.
