About Arash Harzand, MD, MBA

Arash Harzand is the Chief Health Officer for the VA Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning, the Director of Vascular Medicine at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Emory University. As both a cardiologist and clinician scientist, his focus is on designing, evaluating, and implementing digital health interventions for cardiovascular conditions, with an emphasis on peripheral artery disease. His primary research focus is on the use of mobile health for delivering virtual exercise-based interventions. He is a current Career Development Award recipient from the VA Office of Research and Development. He has been recognized as a Young Investigator by the American College of Cardiology and the Northwestern Cardiovascular Symposium. Dr. Harzand graduated from the combined MD/MBA program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Emory University where he also served as Chief Resident for Quality and Patient. He then completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Emory prior to joining the faculty in 2018.
