Daniel L. Lustgarten, MD, PhD, is a cardiovascular electrophysiologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Research Laboratory and Professor of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and other complex heart rhythm disorders, with expertise in catheter ablation, intracardiac echocardiography, and physiologic pacing. Dr. Lustgarten completed his residency and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital after earning his MD and PhD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Lustgarten is internationally recognized for his contributions to cardiac electrophysiology research, particularly in the areas of cardiac ablation, cryotherapy, His-bundle pacing, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. He has led multicenter clinical trials, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and is a sought-after educator, teaching advanced electrophysiology techniques and procedural biophysics to physicians worldwide. Through his clinical practice, research, and academic leadership, Dr. Lustgarten remains dedicated to advancing innovative therapies that improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders.
