Faraz Ahmad, MD, MS
I’m a heart failure cardiologist and board-certified clinical informaticist specializing in the development, validation, and large-scale deployment of AI and digital health technologies in cardiovascular care. I lead the Implementation Intelligence Lab at Northwestern and serve as Medical Director for AI Strategy for the Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute Center for AI and NM Ventures & Innovation.
I have led or supported multiple enterprise-level implementations of AI models—including internally developed and commercial solutions—focused on improving operational efficiency, transforming clinical workflows, and enhancing patient outcomes. I collaborate extensively with health tech companies to co-develop and evaluate AI-enabled tools, from early prototyping to real-world deployment.
My academic work includes federal, foundation, and industry-funded research, national guideline and scientific statement contributions, and service as Associate Editor for JAMA+ AI. Clinically, I specialize in HFpEF and cardiac amyloidosis.
