Fu Siong Na

Fu Siong Ng, MBBS, PhD, FHRS, is Professor of Cardiology at Imperial College London and a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a clinician-scientist who divides his time between treating patients with heart rhythm disorders and leading a multidisciplinary research program focused on understanding arrhythmia mechanisms and developing novel approaches to diagnosis and treatment.

Professor Ng’s research interests include atrial fibrillation, artificial intelligence and ECG-based risk stratification, novel cardiac mapping technologies, inflammation and arrhythmias, and the relationship between obesity and heart rhythm disorders. He leads a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, engineers, scientists, and researchers and has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and holds multiple patents. His research program is supported by the British Heart Foundation, including a five-year Programme Grant investigating arrhythmogenic mechanisms.

Professor Ng earned his medical degree from St George’s, University of London and subsequently completed specialist training in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at London institutions including Hammersmith and St Mary’s Hospitals. He earned his PhD from Imperial College London and completed postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied arrhythmogenic remodeling using optical mapping of human hearts. He is accredited as a cardiac electrophysiology specialist by the European Heart Rhythm Association and is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, European Society of Cardiology, and Royal College of Physicians.
