About Geraldine Lee, PhD

Professor Geraldine Lee, PhD, is Chair of Nursing and Health Services Research at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork, Ireland. A cardiovascular nurse researcher with more than 30 years of clinical and academic experience, Professor Lee’s work focuses on atrial fibrillation, cardio-oncology, advanced clinical practice, chronic disease management, and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based, multidisciplinary models of care. She established a nurse-led rapid access atrial fibrillation clinic at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and has led innovative research on advanced practice nursing, workforce development, shared decision-making, and digital health technologies.

Professor Lee has published more than 160 peer-reviewed publications and serves as Principal Investigator on several international research initiatives. She is actively involved with the European Society of Cardiology, including its Council of Cardio-Oncology, and the International Cardio-Oncology Society. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she became the first nurse to receive the European Society of Cardiology Council of Cardio-Oncology Grandparenting Pathway recognition. Throughout her career, Professor Lee has remained committed to advancing cardiovascular nursing, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving healthcare delivery through research, education, and innovation.
