Jodie Hurwitz

Jodie Hurwitz, MD, FHRS is a nationally recognized cardiac electrophysiologist and partner at North Texas Heart Center in Dallas, where she serves as Director of Electrophysiology. She is also Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Medical City Heart Hospital and has dedicated more than three decades to advancing the care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias through clinical excellence, research, and physician education.

Dr. Hurwitz earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital, followed by fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center. She previously served on the faculties of both Duke University Medical Center and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Dallas to join North Texas Heart Center.

An internationally respected leader in electrophysiology, Dr. Hurwitz served as President of the Heart Rhythm Society (2023–2024), becoming the first physician from private practice to lead the organization. Throughout her career, she has held numerous leadership roles within HRS, including the Women’s Leadership Initiative, Membership Committee, Advocacy Committee, and as the Society’s representative to the American Medical Association. She also serves as President of the North Texas Electrophysiology Society and has contributed extensively to national board certification and educational initiatives in cardiac electrophysiology.
