Jonathan Schwartz

Jonathan D Schwartz, MD is a hematologist-oncologist and former Associate Professor at Mount Sinai (NYC). His career has been focused on the development of scientifically-based therapies for cancer, blood and cardiovascular disorders.

As founding Chief Medical and current Chief Scientific and Gene Therapy Officer at Rocket Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Schwartz has led research programs for Rocket’s lentiviral hematopoietic stem cell based programs for devastating hematologic disorders and Rocket’s AAV programs for life-threatening cardiovascular disorders. He has overseen the design and interpretation of multiple early-stage and registrational gene therapy studies in hematologic, immunologic and cardiovascular conditions, and actively participates in international collaborations to optimize the safety, efficacy and accessibility of transformative gene therapies.

Dr. Schwartz has authored/co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, and more than 100 presentations/abstracts at international medical and scientific meetings.
