About Karl-Heinz Kuck, MD, PhD, FHRS

Dr. Karl-Heinz Kuck is an internationally recognized cardiologist and clinical cardiac electrophysiologist who serves as Medical Director at LANS Cardio Hamburg in Germany. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has been a pioneer in the advancement of catheter ablation and the treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias, helping to shape modern electrophysiology practice in Europe and worldwide. Previously, he served for many years as Head of the Department of Cardiology at Asklepios Klinik St. Georg in Hamburg, where he led one of Germany’s premier electrophysiology programs.

Prof. Kuck’s clinical and research interests include atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, catheter ablation, implantable cardiac devices, and structural heart interventions. He has served as Principal Investigator for numerous landmark clinical trials, including FIRE AND ICE, VTACH, BERLIN VT, AMICA, ATTEST, CASH, CAT, and DINAMIT, and has authored or co-authored more than 800 scientific publications. His leadership extends beyond research through service as President of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and President of the German Society for Cardiology, as well as his ongoing role as Section Editor for Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review.
