Kim Swafford, a dedicated healthcare industry executive, brings over 20 years of experience to her role. As a leader on the Health and Life Sciences team at Microsoft, Kim spearheads virtual and digital health initiatives, collaborating closely with healthcare providers and payors to drive digital transformation within the industry. Her expertise at Microsoft has been instrumental in leading critical partnership opportunities.
Before joining Microsoft, Kim served as the Group Vice President of Telehealth at Providence, where she played a pivotal role in evolving their telehealth program into one of the largest provider-led programs in the country. This comprehensive program extended across 120 facilities in 8 states and offered an array of 50 clinical programs. Prior to her telehealth endeavors, Kim served as the Chief Operating Officer for Clinical Institutes at Providence. In this capacity, she played an integral role in developing a framework for scaling best practices and establishing system-wide clinical institutes.
Kim’s career also includes various service line leadership roles at Swedish Health System in Seattle, WA in specialty services such as cardiac and neuro. Her journey into the world of telehealth began in 2004 when she was a part of the pioneering teleICU program at Phillips (VISICU), where her focus was on creating and scaling efficient workflows for remotely monitoring patients in intensive care units.
She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University and a graduate degree (MHA) in Healthcare Administration with a focus on Informatics from the University of Washington
