Leanne Bakke

Leanne Bakke, PhD, MBA, is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BioSim Innovations, a medical technology company specializing in innovative preclinical testing, biosimulator model development, physician training, and translational services for the development of medical devices and therapies. In her role, she works with medical device innovators to develop customized preclinical models and testing strategies designed to more effectively translate new technologies from development toward clinical use.

Prior to co-founding BioSim Innovations, Dr. Bakke served as Director of BioSim Innovations at Switchback Medical, where she focused on the development of tissue-based models to support medical device research and development. She previously spent several years in academia as a science professor and administrator at Concordia University, St. Paul, where her work included developing research programs, establishing laboratory capabilities, and advancing science education.

Dr. Bakke earned her PhD in Molecular Physiology from Michigan State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Valparaiso University and an MBA from Concordia University, St. Paul. Her background in scientific research, education, and medical technology development provides a multidisciplinary perspective on preclinical research and the translation of emerging medical technologies into clinical practice.
