I am Michel Abou Khalil, an MD graduate and current research fellow at TRIAD (Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discovery). At TRIAD, I work across a broad spectrum of projects ranging from basic lab research to advanced cardiac imaging and clinical studies. My work focuses heavily on atrial fibrillation and fibrosis, with a strong interest in integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into arrhythmia care. I am also involved in translational models using cardiac MRI, device-based therapy, and tissue-level investigations to better understand the mechanisms behind arrhythmia and structural heart disease.
