Shawn Kumar

Shawn Kumar is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RhythmScience, a digital health company focused on transforming cardiac data into actionable insights to improve patient care. A biomedical engineer, AI developer, and cognitive scientist, Kumar brings experience spanning cardiac medical devices, remote patient monitoring, healthcare technology, and entrepreneurship.

Prior to founding RhythmScience, Kumar worked in the cardiac medical device industry, including roles with St. Jude Medical and Abbott, where his experience included cardiac rhythm management technologies and the commercialization of CardioMEMS for heart failure monitoring. He later served as a technical founder of Octagos Health before building RhythmScience and its Rhythm360 platform.

At RhythmScience, Kumar leads the development of technology designed to organize and analyze cardiac data across devices and data sources, helping care teams more effectively manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders and heart failure. He was also the original architect of the company’s technology and continues to bring a hands-on technical perspective to product development.

Kumar earned degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Cognitive Science from Washington University in St. Louis. His work sits at the intersection of engineering, artificial intelligence, cardiac care, and digital health, with a focus on using data and technology to enable earlier and more effective clinical intervention.
