About Tatjana Potpara, MD, PhD
Tatjana S. Potpara, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist, researcher, and internationally recognized expert in cardiac arrhythmias, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation (AF). She is affiliated with the University of Belgrade School of Medicine and the University Clinical Centre of Serbia, where her clinical and scientific work focuses on cardiac arrhythmias, clinical electrophysiology, and the management of atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Potpara serves as President of the Serbian Atrial Fibrillation Association (SAFA) and is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). Her extensive involvement in European cardiovascular research and professional organizations has included leadership and committee roles within the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and the ESC EurObservational Research Programme (EORP) Atrial Fibrillation registries. She has also played a prominent role in international AF research and previously co-chaired the 2020 ESC Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation.
In addition to her clinical and research leadership, Dr. Potpara is actively involved in scientific publishing and editorial activities, including serving as Section Editor for Thrombosis and Haemostasis and contributing to international scientific and medical journals. She has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed publications and participated in numerous international research initiatives focused on improving the prevention, diagnosis, and management of atrial fibrillation.
