About Signe Risom, RN, MSc, PhD
Signe Risom, RN, MSc, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Cardiology at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital and an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on cardiovascular nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, atrial fibrillation, digital health, patient education, and patient-centered care, with an emphasis on improving outcomes through innovative models of care and evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Risom has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and has led numerous national and international research initiatives examining rehabilitation, physical activity, shared decision-making, and support strategies for individuals living with cardiovascular disease. In addition to her research, she contributes to graduate education and mentors emerging investigators while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to translate research into clinical practice. She is committed to advancing cardiovascular care through implementation science, digital innovation, and patient engagement, with the goal of improving quality of life and long-term outcomes for people with heart disease.
