Srijoy Mahapatra

Srijoy Mahapatra, MD, MBA, FHRS is a physician, entrepreneur, and healthcare executive serving as World Wide General Manager, Left Atrial Appendage Management at Abbott. He is an internationally recognized leader in cardiac electrophysiology, medical technology innovation, and strategic healthcare transformation, with more than three decades of experience spanning clinical medicine, medical devices, artificial intelligence, venture investment, and startup leadership. Prior to his current role, he led Abbott Ventures, where he guided investments in emerging healthcare technologies and incubated innovative businesses within Abbott.

Dr. Mahapatra earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, and completed his residency and fellowship training in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Mayo Clinic. Throughout his career, he has founded or helped lead multiple healthcare startups, served as Chief Strategy Officer for Fairview Health Services and Assistant Dean of Innovation at the University of Minnesota Medical School, and held numerous executive leadership roles in the cardiovascular medical device industry. An accomplished inventor, he holds dozens of issued and pending patents, has authored more than 100 scientific publications, and is passionate about advancing precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and innovative cardiovascular therapies that improve patient outcomes.
