Stavros Mountantonakis

Stavros Mountantonakis, MD, MBA, is a cardiac electrophysiologist and Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Center for Arrhythmias. He is the Nicholas P. DePasquale, MD, Professor in Cardiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Dr. Mountantonakis earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Thessaly in Greece and subsequently served as a medical officer in the Greek Air Force. He completed his internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic, cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology training at the University of Pennsylvania. He later earned an MBA from Hofstra University.

In 2017, Dr. Mountantonakis founded Northwell Health’s Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program and continues to serve as its System Program Director. His clinical and research interests include atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, catheter ablation, and the application of novel technologies to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. He is actively involved in clinical research and has participated in numerous clinical trials. Dr. Mountantonakis is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.
