About Babak Nazer, MD
Babak Nazer, MD is Professor of Medicine and Bioengineering at the University of Washington, where he serves as Director of the Multi-Disciplinary Ventricular Arrhythmia Program and leads the Translational Electrophysiology Laboratory. A nationally recognized cardiac electrophysiologist, his clinical expertise includes catheter ablation, ventricular arrhythmias, and inflammatory and genetic cardiomyopathies. Dr. Nazer’s research focuses on developing novel ultrasound-based cardiovascular therapies, advancing the understanding of inflammatory and genetic heart disease, and improving risk stratification and treatment for ventricular arrhythmias in adults with congenital heart disease. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, mentored over 50 trainees, founded two startup companies, secured more than $10 million in research funding, and holds multiple patents supporting innovations in cardiovascular medicine.
