About Christine M Albert, MD, MPH, FHRS
Christine M. Albert, MD, MPH, is a nationally recognized cardiac electrophysiologist, cardiovascular epidemiologist, and academic leader. She serves as the inaugural Chief of Cardiology for the Heart and Vascular Institute at Mass General Brigham and is the Richard N. and Marilyn K. Berry Professor of Cardiology at Harvard Medical School. Previously, she was Chair of the Department of Cardiology at the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute, where she led clinical, research, and educational initiatives in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Albert’s research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death, with an emphasis on identifying modifiable risk factors and improving population cardiovascular health. A pioneer in the field of heart rhythm disorders, she has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and has held numerous leadership roles within national cardiovascular organizations. Through her contributions to clinical research, education, and evidence-based care, Dr. Albert has significantly advanced the understanding and prevention of cardiac arrhythmias worldwide.
