About Peter J. Zimetbaum, MD, FHRS

Peter J. Zimetbaum, MD, is the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Chief and Director of Clinical Cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Zimetbaum specializes in the diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias, with particular expertise in atrial fibrillation, sudden cardiac death syndromes, and complex cardiac implantable electronic devices. He also directs the ECG and Arrhythmia Core Laboratory at the Baim Institute for Clinical Research, where he oversees multicenter cardiovascular clinical research.

Dr. Zimetbaum is an internationally recognized clinician, investigator, and educator whose research has focused on cardiac arrhythmias, electrophysiology, and evidence-based cardiovascular care. He has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed publications, contributed to national and international clinical practice guidelines, and serves as a trusted expert in the management of heart rhythm disorders. Through his leadership in clinical care, research, and medical education, Dr. Zimetbaum continues to advance the field of cardiac electrophysiology and improve outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease.
