Pamela Mason

Pamela Mason, MD, FHRS is Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology at UVA Health and a fellowship-trained cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders. Her clinical expertise includes complex pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) management, lead extraction, catheter ablation, and left atrial appendage occlusion. Dr. Mason earned her undergraduate degree from Miami University and her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati before completing her residency in internal medicine, fellowship in cardiology, and fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Virginia. She joined the UVA Health faculty in 2007 and has since been dedicated to advancing patient care, education, and innovation in electrophysiology. Inspired by her father’s lifelong experience with atrial fibrillation, Dr. Mason pursued a career in medicine to improve the lives of patients with heart rhythm disorders. In addition to her clinical leadership, she is committed to mentoring future physicians and advancing the field of cardiac electrophysiology through excellence in patient care and education.
